We found out this week we will be going to Ikusaka-mura in the Nagano prefecture.  Here is the link to Nagano prefecture if you are interested: http://www.go-nagano.net/

We are very excited!  It is a little village of about 2200 people at the base of several mountain ranges.  It has all of our favorite things: sun, mountains, soba noodles, ninja schools, taiko, fruit, wine, onsens and microbreweries! 

It's also relatively easy to get to, only about 2 hours west of Tokyo and accessible by train.  The nickname of Nagano prefecture is "Rooftop of Japan"--hence the blog name.
